My Philosophy

Our earliest experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others. They influence how we communicate, respond to conflict, experience intimacy, and protect ourselves when we feel vulnerable.

Patterns that once helped us cope can later leave us feeling stuck or disconnected. Therapy creates an opportunity to understand these patterns, heal old wounds, and develop new ways of relating to ourselves and the people we love.

My Journey

I've been in a committed relationship for over 26 years. Like many long-term partnerships, it has asked a great deal of us and taught me that connection is not about luck. It is built through intention, courage, and the willingness to keep showing up.

That lived experience sits alongside my clinical training and informs the way I work. I understand that relationships are complex, and that meaningful change often begins when we slow down, reflect, and engage honestly with what is happening between us.

My Practice

I am the Founder and Clinical Director of The Fitzroy Practice and also work within the NHS at St Mary's Hospital as a Psychosexual Therapist.

I offer a warm, direct, and relational approach. Together, we explore the patterns that create distance, the defences that keep you stuck, and the longings that remain unmet.

Drawing on psychodynamic psychotherapy, Relational Life Therapy, EMDR, and psychosexual therapy, I help individuals and couples move towards greater connection, repair, and emotional freedom.

My Qualifications

My clinical training includes a Master's level Advanced Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy from Tavistock Relationships and postgraduate training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from Roehampton University.

Alongside private practice and my NHS work at St Mary's Hospital, I contribute to professional conversations on relationships, intimacy, sexuality, and emotional well-being through speaking, training, and ongoing professional development.

We began seeing Gity during one of the most difficult times in our marriage. Coming from different cultural backgrounds and both having experienced challenging childhoods, we had developed defensive and hurtful ways of communicating. We had hit a wall and didn’t know how to move forward.

Through her guidance, we learned how to express our needs and feelings more clearly, while also learning to respect each other’s differences, both individually and culturally. Gity went above and beyond to make each of us feel truly seen and heard, helping us reconnect not just as a couple, but as individuals. Spiritually and emotionally, this has been the best investment we’ve made, both in ourselves and in our relationship.

"I have committed to a couple of short stints with different therapists in the past but stuck with Gity for a much longer period of time as I experienced a transformational process of becoming that saw us delve into depths I've not accessed before. Gity was simultaneously deeply empathic and challenging - she met me with softness, kindness and a warm energy but also held me accountable and pushed me in ways I didn't realise I needed to be in order to address patterns that were holding me back from the life I want for myself. I felt extremely safe, seen and supported by Gity - she revealed a passion and commitment to helping me heal and evolve beyond anything I've experienced with another practitioner before and I am grateful to have had her in my corner. It has been an intense, expansive and liberating experience - I would highly recommend Gity."

My partner and I had sessions for several months with Gity. She was fantastic. Helped me bring my confidence back- not just for myself but also in my relationship through the use of various exercises. She helped me genuinely realise that communication is the cornerstone of any relationship and that sex can be a powerful tool to enhance your intimate relationships. I’d highly recommend Gity for any sexual or relationship counselling for intimate relationships.
